I'm very upset. My bike is gone. It was locked to itself in a little
enclosure behind my apartment, minding its own business, scratched and all.
And some dweeb who didn't have the wit to figure out a better way to make
$20 decided to nab it to buy a CD or a cheap watch.
I know I shouldn't let these things get to me, but they make me angry and frustrate me at humanity's condition. Any sense of "trust" I had developed at living in downtown Palo Alto has been shattered. I felt like buying a nice bike and then hiding to snipe would-be takers with a BB gun; or maybe a paintgun -- then they'd think they had been hit for real, would freak out, and it'd be hard to conceal the fact that they did it. I'm case number 99231057, but it's unlikely I'll ever get my bike back. | ||
