Yo. So it's about two months since I last updated this page, and a bunch of stuff happened. First off, the site got hacked into; I lost some amount of data, but managed to recover the main site. I've since taken more stringent precautions against hackers. Ech. Can't a man just run his site in peace?

Anyhow, I went to the Netherlands with Vanessa, and it was absolutely awesome. I went clubbing in Amsterdam and was subsequently introduced to DJ Jean's incredible tunes -- he's more or less the defining club sound of the Netherlands. I'll put some sound bites up here soon, perhaps.

Relevant to my website, I've installed my webcam that I won from the Snap.com sweepstakes (with this code) and you'll now notice that the middle of my checkerboard front contains a live image of yours truly, updated every ten seconds. =) This is going to screw with my logs, but that's fine. I've removed the international sections of my site, mainly because the translations were so horrible. If you want them back, tell me and I'll bring them back.

I think I will be discontinuing my work on the Start project: one of the guys I was working with decided to go off and start his own company without telling me. A bit jerkish, eh? Ah, well.

Incidentally, at the ACM contest I was given a copy of IBM's ViaVoice continuous speech recognition package. It is an impressive piece of software. It actually works. I may soon start using it for most of my typing. "You talk, it types," as the saying goes. Amazing.

It is incredibly sunny outside! The last few days have been absolutely gorgeous here at Stanford, and I've enjoyed frolicking in the sunshine aplenty.

Courses look good for this quarter: I'm acting in a play, making sculptures, and learning about how computers interface to humans best. It should all be neat. More info as it comes in! =)
